Over 50 new and returning families gathered on Sunday for Popsicle Playdates at St. James, which officially kicked off back-to-school season. These annual events are intended to help our youngest new students and their parents meet teachers and other families before the start of the school year. Because of summer rain showers, the first playdate for our 2-year-old and PreK-3 programs gathered in Bishop’s Hall for fun with balls, tunnels, hula hoops, and music while the adults socialized.  When the rain stopped, everyone moved outside for popsicles and chalk drawing on the large playground. An hour later, children in our PreK-4 and Kindergarten classes arrived to meet teachers and enjoy popsicles with friends. All students left with a special St. James coloring book and crayons so they could be reminded of their school during the last weeks of summer.
