Children who attend St. James now will enter college in the digital age
of the 21st century. Since the future is unknown, we wonder what the
world will be like for these students. What values will guide them in
their decision-making, and what meaningful knowledge will they have
gained along their way? Our goal is to equip children with the skills,
knowledge, and values that will allow them to face whatever the future
brings.
St. James provides a quality education for children through a
challenging and wide-ranging curriculum taught by a faculty that values
excellence.

Our fifty years of experience have shown that the
foundation laid at St. James will prepare a child, not simply for middle
and high school, but for the most demanding requirements of
college—and for life. We believe that if the foundation is laid well in
the elementary years, children can face the future with confidence.
Teachers are
the heart and soul of an excellent school. The faculty at St. James is
committed to excellence in education and recognizes the need to
inspire, challenge, and nurture each child. Our teachers share, not
only their knowledge and expertise, but also themselves. This is a
faculty whose knowledge of subject matter and love for children
enables St. James to offer an education that is second to none!
The physical facility at St. James is outstanding—state of the
art classrooms, broadcast studio, renovated playgrounds, multipurpose
gymnasium, large lunchroom, extended care facilities and the
historic St. James Episcopal Church.
Parents are an essential part of our school, not only as they visit and
teach and volunteer in so many ways, but also as they support their
children's best efforts with genuine interest and active
participation.
Children, curriculum, teachers, parents, and
physical facilities—all are important parts of the educational whole. A
school is a place of learning, and at St. James it is also a place of
friendships and of celebration. Events such as the Fall Carnival,
Grandparents' Day, musical programs and art shows are but a few of the
extra-curricular activities happening at St. James.
We are an integral part of St. James Episcopal Church, which gives a
unique quality to the school. Worship is but one of the characteristics
that defines who we are, and one special common thread that binds the
life of the school and church together.
It is our privilege at St. James to play a part towards preparing
students to meet the future. We are excited that our students are being
given the education they will need to embark on great
adventures—prepared and ready. Come and share the adventure at St.
James!
